Project details

  • Date: December 5, 2024
  • Location: Dimitrie Leonida National Technical Museum, Bucharest

With the support of Asociația Provident pentru Educație and Provident Financial România, on December 5th we organized the ArtFinEdu event, part of the Invizibilii program, through which we support the financial and social inclusion of vulnerable groups. Hosted by Muzeul Național Tehnic „Dimitrie Leonida” and Teatrul Vasilache, this project blends financial education with art and is aimed at single-parent families from Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu, giving children and parents a hands-on, creative learning experience, right on St. Nicholas Day.

According to the Invizibilii study (www.invizibilii.ro), there are over 300,000 children growing up in single-parent families in Romania, for whom managing a budget on a single source of income is a constant challenge. Through creative activities and non-formal education, ArtFinEdu supports these families, giving them the tools they need to better understand and manage their financial resources. The event also aims to open up new cultural horizons for children, many of whom were visiting a museum or attending a theatre show for the first time.

Financial education through art

In a world where financial concepts can seem complicated, ArtFinEdu aims to bring this concept closer to families through an innovative approach: art as a learning tool. The creative activities are designed to turn abstract concepts into enjoyable, hands-on experiences. Throughout the day, participants got to enjoy:

  • a journey through the history of technology, discovering inventions that changed the world and sparking curiosity;
  • a creative financial education workshop, where children and parents learn about saving, budgeting and making responsible decisions;
  • an interactive theatre show, turning financial concepts into captivating stories, with characters that inspire them and offer a new perspective on the value of money.

Beneficiaries: over 140 children and parents from single-parent families.

Through the ArtFinEdu event, we aim to bring financial education closer to single-parent families, using art as an innovative learning tool. It's essential to give these families the support they need to better understand and manage their financial resources, in an accessible and enjoyable way. We're proud to partner with Asociația POT SĂ AJUT within the Invizibilii program, contributing to the social inclusion of vulnerable groups. We believe initiatives like this can create a positive, lasting impact in communities.
