EduFusion: colors that speak silent truths

In early June, at Veranda Mall in Bucharest, EduFusion stepped out into the world. Over 200 paintings created by children from vulnerable communities were exhibited and admired by more than 300 visitors – parents, children, volunteers, and friends of the project, who became part of a story about emotions, vulnerability, and courage.

We were there. In the midst of the children, the colors, the questions that aren't always asked out loud. On Children's Day, we painted and talked about things that don't appear in textbooks: fear, joy, loneliness, closeness, hope. We were there with attention, with time, with everything that doesn't fit into a gift. The children asked us if we would come back – and that's the kind of question that isn't easily forgotten.

The exhibited works were created in EduFusion workshops held in Ilfov, Giurgiu, Teleorman, and Prahova counties, under the guidance of Marius Constantinescu, therapist and good deeds ambassador. The children were encouraged to express their emotions and dreams through color, in a safe and empathetic space, without fear of being corrected or judged.

About EduFusion

EduFusion is an emotional education project through art, meant to give children a safe space for expression, emotional support, and visibility, and, in turn, to help reduce school dropout. On www.edufusion.ro, the virtual exhibition remains open to anyone who wants to discover the children's works – paintings that speak about inner worlds that are often invisible.

Each exhibited work is a window into a child's soul – an invitation to look beyond appearances and to listen, with the heart, to the stories of the youngest among us. We're not chasing perfection, but honest and authentic expression, because art becomes the language through which children learn to recognize and manage their emotions.

You can find out more about the method used in the project in the article signed by Marius Constantinescu on Pagina de Psihologie: How to help children feel safe. The art of understanding their emotions and body.

And you can also read the story behind the exhibition in the article from Revista Biz.

Growing together, further on

The exhibition at Veranda Mall was just a beginning. We continue with workshops, with new plans, with the wish to reach as many communities as possible where children need to be seen, heard, and supported.

In a time when more and more children are dealing with emotions that are hard to understand – from anger and fear to sadness or anxiety – projects like EduFusion become an essential resource. The workshops give children the tools they need to better manage their emotional states, especially when parents don't always have the answers or the support they need. It's an effort that children need both at school and at home.
