Meaningful Days Ploiești

With the support of Asociația Provident pentru Educație and Provident Financial România, we organized the first edition of "Zile cu Sens," a project dedicated to pensioners in the community.

According to the Invizibilii study (www.invizibilii.ro), there are over 1.2 million pensioners in Romania at risk of poverty and social exclusion. Low digital literacy, limited financial means, and reduced mobility often leave them unable to meet many of their emotional or social needs, making it much harder for them to access even essential products and services. Emotionally, retirement becomes for many people a time when they lose hope in the future and, with it, in any chance of living better.

About Zile cu Sens

Zile cu Sens is a program dedicated to seniors across Romania, through which we aim to support active aging and their social integration through educational and recreational activities. Our goal is to give seniors the chance to learn digital skills, so they can more easily stay connected with loved ones, and to take part in events that enrich their social and cultural life. The program includes digital literacy and online safety workshops, as well as recreational activities that help build intergenerational bonds and a sense of belonging to a community that supports and appreciates them.

Through Zile cu Sens we want to help seniors live a more fulfilling life, giving them the tools they need to navigate the digital world and supporting them in staying active and socially engaged. Our event in Ploiești was an important step in that direction. There, seniors not only learned to use the essential apps to stay connected with family and friends, but we also celebrated March 8th together, with music from artist Walter Ghicolescu. We gave them a special day, full of appreciation and beautiful moments, to show them how much they mean to us.

How did seniors experience it?

Participants at the event had the chance to learn new digital skills, take part in social sessions, and discover techniques that help them protect their personal information online. What's more, they enjoyed a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where they learned to use the internet in a simple and effective way, to stay connected with family, friends, and the community.

The feedback we received made us very happy — seniors expressed their gratitude for the chance to learn new things and for the atmosphere of trust and respect that was created. Participants also felt appreciated and supported, and many of them said they would gladly join future workshops.
