Project details

  • Date: April 11, 2025
  • Location: Geo Bogza Municipal House of Culture Câmpina

On April 11th, at Casa Municipală de Cultură "Geo Bogza" in Câmpina, we organized a new edition of ArtFinEdu, the event that makes financial education accessible and friendly for single-parent families, with the help of art, play and interactive stories.

Organized by Asociația POT SĂ AJUT, with the support of Asociația Provident pentru Educație and Provident Financial România, ArtFinEdu is part of the Invizibilii program – a national initiative supporting the social and financial inclusion of vulnerable groups in Romania.

Financial education through art

In Romania, only 1 in 4 adults applies financial education principles in everyday life, according to the Unlock Market Research study. This lack of knowledge affects vulnerable families badly, especially single-parent ones, who manage a budget on a single source of income and face a shortage of both time and money.

ArtFinEdu supports these families with a different approach: instead of formal lessons, we offer creative workshops, interactive activities and a safe environment, where parents and children learn together. Through play, drawing, dialogue and theatre, financial education becomes a family experience — accessible, relevant and... meaningful.

How it went in Câmpina

The event took place on Financial Education Day, April 11th, and brought together 220 parents and children from Prahova, Ilfov and Dâmbovița counties.

Participants explored essential notions of budgeting, saving and making responsible decisions in a financial education through art workshop – designed to encourage learning through practical, playful activities.

The second edition of #ArtFinEdu brought together 220 children and parents from single-parent families, from Prahova, Ilfov and Dâmbovița counties, at Casa de Cultură „Geo Bogza" in Câmpina, in a warm, creative and inclusive setting. Together, we discovered how art can explain the world of finance. Instead of tables and figures, we had:

  • A creative financial education workshop, led by Andrei Popa, where children learned about saving and budgeting while coloring piggy banks with their wishes
  • An interactive theatre show with MiniRicii, where concepts about money turned into adventures, and financial lessons were learned alongside likeable, easy-to-love characters

Teddy, ambassador of good deeds

Teddy (Toader Păun)

MC and ambassador of good deeds, Teddy (Toader Păun) chose to stay close to vulnerable communities and turn time spent together into moments that matter. A man in search of people, experiences and places #DeMilioane, Teddy stands by us as we do #WeCareTogether for seniors and single-parent families.

Teddy, thank you for your friendship, your support, and for carrying our story of good forward!

Students from Liceul Tehnologic in Câmpina joined us as volunteers and pitched in happily with everything that this day involved. It was an event about smart choices, stories that matter and small steps toward a future of responsible decisions.

April 11th is Financial Education Day, but it was also the loveliest Friday I've spent, in Câmpina, alongside hundreds of children and parents who felt good and learned, through play, through art, what it means to manage your money. And I learned something else too: I can help too. So can you! 😊

Teddy, ambassador of good deeds and host of the event

It was super interesting and fun, even for us parents, to take part in your event in Câmpina! Thank you for capturing the moments!

Why does financial education matter in the family?

For single-parent families, managing money is a constant challenge. That's why ArtFinEdu supports not just learning financial concepts, but also spending quality time as a family. In a non-formal setting, parent and child learn together, communicate, play and enjoy cultural experiences in a different way. Financial education helps develop skills that matter for life:

  • budget management
  • understanding the value of money
  • making conscious, responsible decisions
  • building healthy habits from childhood

Through these events, we want to contribute to the financial and emotional security of single-parent families, offering them not just useful information, but also support, belonging and access to art and culture.

What's next?

ArtFinEdu continues! We want to reach as many towns and cities in Romania as possible, to support single parents and to build communities where financial education isn't a privilege, but a right.

So far, over 2,800 children, parents and seniors from 13 counties have taken part in our events within the Invizibilii program. By the end of the year, we aim to cross the threshold of 4,000 beneficiaries through creative, inclusive actions with real impact.

Want to get involved?

We believe in the power of partnerships that bring real change to the community. If you want to stand with us, here's how you can help:

  • Volunteering - you can get involved in organizing future editions, giving your time and energy to create valuable experiences for children and parents.
  • In-kind partnerships - you can contribute spaces, materials, services or expertise, depending on the resources available to you.
  • Redirecting 3.5% of income tax (Form 230) or up to 20% of corporate profit/income tax for companies – a simple, no-extra-cost way to support our projects.
  • Donations - on our website (the "Donate" page) or, if you're an ING customer, directly from HomeBank, under the Education section – Asociația POT SĂ AJUT, before year end.

Write to us at partener@potsaajut.ro and let's team up to grow the impact of our projects and reach as many beneficiaries as possible, nationwide.

Because stories of good are written with people like you.
