Project details

  • Date: October 1, 2025
  • Location: Dance Team Academy, Pitești

On October 1st, at Dance Team Academy in Pitești, we continued the Zile cu Sens – Artă în Mișcare marathon with an event dedicated to seniors in the community.

The activity was built around a dance workshop led by choreographer Valentin Dobriță, held over two sessions, to allow as many seniors as possible to take part.

The format was designed to be accessible, encouraging participants to move at their own pace, without pressure, in a safe and friendly space.

The atmosphere was energetic and relaxed at the same time. Participants quickly gained confidence, found their rhythm, and turned the gathering into an active moment full of energy and good spirits.

The event was organized by Asociația POT SĂ AJUT, with the support of Asociația Provident pentru Educație and Provident Financial România, as part of the Invizibilii program.

Why it matters

For many seniors, the lack of movement and social interaction sets in gradually, as they step back from activity.

Without the right contexts, routine takes over and energy levels drop.

Through activities like those in Zile cu Sens, we offer simple, accessible alternatives through which seniors:

  • maintain their mobility
  • regain their energy
  • step out of routine
  • reconnect with others

Movement, even in gentle forms, has a real impact on well-being.

How it was for participants

I didn't think I'd dance like this again. I felt full of energy, as if I had turned back the clock a little.

Elena, 65, pensioner

I liked that nothing was complicated. We moved, we laughed, and we forgot our worries.

Ion, 70, pensioner

About Artă în Mișcare

The event in Pitești is part of the marathon organized for the International Day of Older Persons, held simultaneously in several cities across Romania.

The Artă în Mișcare concept brings together dance, movement, and artistic expression, as tools through which seniors can stay active and connected.

Nationwide, more than 800 seniors took part in activities built around movement, art, and social interaction.

Impact

Initiatives like this have a direct impact on participants' lives.

Through activities based on movement and interaction, they:

  • regain their energy and confidence
  • socialize and build new connections
  • stay active and involved in the community
  • discover new experiences

These contexts help maintain an active life and reduce feelings of isolation.
